BELVEDERE, S.C. - Entered into rest on Sunday, Ms. Mary M. Hamlet Wood, of Audubon Circle, Belvedere. She was the daughter of Mrs. Glendora Cobb Hamlet, of North Augusta and the late Mr. Eugene Hamlet. She was preceded in death by a brother, Mr. Sibley Eugene Hamlet. She was the sister of Jerry Lee Hamlet, of North Augusta. Survivors include several nieces and nephews. She was born in Augusta, Ga. and was a member of the St. Johns Episcopal Church. She retired from Civil Service, having served in Washington, D.C., at the Savannah River Plant, and Ft. Gordon. She retired as a medical transcriptionist from St. Joseph Hospital. Ms. Wood graduated from LBC High School, attended Winthrop College, and was a member of the Augusta Rose Society and the N.A. Pilot Club. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 3 p.m. in the Hatcher Funeral Home chapel with the Revs. Ron Hasty, Rhett Winters, and Frank Copeland officiating. Interment in Glover Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Steven and Mark Ellis, Juel Edwards, Carlton Weathersbee, Grant and Scott Hasty. Friends may call on Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Hatcher Funeral Home, U.S. Hwy. #1, Langley, S.C.
