CLEMSON, S.C. -- Oguchi Onyewu scored the tying and winning goals as Clemson rallied to reached the NCAA tournament quarterfinals with a 3-2 victory over Alabama-Birmingham in two overtimes Sunday.
Clemson trailed 2-0 with just more than 10 minutes remaining. But after Nick Rivera headed in the Tigers' first goal, Onyewu tied the game with little over a minute to go. He headed in a pass from Paul Souders for his sixth goal of the season.
Onyewu hit the winner at the 106:55 mark in the second overtime. He headed in a pass sent from Oscar Bringsved.
The Tigers (19-4) face Indiana (16-3-1) next week. Indiana beat Rutgers 3-0 Sunday in Bloomington, Ind.
Flavio Monteiro and Martin Rey scored for the Blazers (15-6).
