Saturday and Jan. 12:
Parent-child waterfowl hunts will be held at Russell reservoir's waterfowl management area. Nine spots are available for youths 15 or younger who must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Applications are due Nov. 23. Call (800) 944-7207, Ext. 4305, for details.
Dec. 22 and 24:
The Aiken-Augusta Audubon Society will conduct annual Christmas Bird Counts in Augusta and Aiken. For information, contact Calvin Zippler, (803) 642-2264.
The Fort Gordon Sportsman's Club meets on the third Thursday of each month at 6 p.m. Membership is open to the public. The shooting range (7A) will be open to the public for firing and zeroing in rifles. A 3-D archery range also is available. The cost is $6 per person ($3 to club members).
