Midland Bassmasters

18th annual Open Team Tournament

Nov. 3, Dorn Boating & Fishing Complex

on Hawe Creek near McCormick, S.C.

Tournament to benefit Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program and Medical College of Georgia Children's Medical Center. First-place team guaranteed a minimum $1,500. Second-place team guaranteed a minimum $750. Third-place team guaranteed a minimum $500. Entry fee $60 plus one new unwrapped toy. Optional big fish pot fee $10. Tournament hours safe light until 3 p.m. Early registration starts at 6:30 p.m., on Nov. 1 at Henna Chevrolet on the Aiken-Augusta Highway. Tracy Thompson, five bass, 7.1 pounds. Lindall Swaim and Marty Quesada Sr., (tie), five bass, 6.2 pounds. Seventeen bass weighing 21.3 pounds were caught and all were released.

Neal Baughman, five bass, 12 pounds, 4 ounces. Jerry Barber, five bass, 6 pounds, 12 ounces. Mitch Gardner, three bass, 5 pounds, 9 ounces. Big fish: Baughman, 3 pounds, 11 ounces. Thirteen fishermen caught 30 bass weighing 46 pounds, 1 ounce.

Steve Foust and Richard Bradshaw, seven bass, 8.28 pounds. Keith Williamson, by himself, seven bass, 7.27 pounds. Lanier Sullivan and Johnson, seven bass, 6.59 pounds. Big fish: Ron Figueroa and Sherry Arnold, 4.19 pounds.

There is a one-time registration fee of $20 per person. Entry fee is $30. Regular tournaments are sponsored by Chuck's Lakeside Marine, Willoughby Ford of Thomson, Ga., Sportsman's Link of Martinez, Rick's Paint & Body of Martinez, White Columns Inn of Thomson and Augusta Marine Superstore, authorized Stratos and Javelin dealer. They will be held every Saturday from safe light until 3 p.m., until further notice out of Little River Marina. Tournaments will not be held when dates conflict with Clark Hill Committee events. Anglers must fish a total of 6 tournaments to qualify for the SMOT Classic, which will pay a guaranteed $10,000 to the first-place team based on 30 boats. One place will be paid for every 10 additional boats. Qualified teams will pay $150 to compete in the Classic, while non-qualifiers must pay $400. For more information: Bart Blackburn, 278-1451.
