CEDAREDGE, Colo. - Passed away in Cedaredge, Colorado on October 15 after a long illness. Private service was held. Elisabeth Maria Reihs was born near Hattingen, Germany on June 12, 1925, to Emil and Betty Reihs. After her obligatory service in the war time Work Service, she became a nurse during WWII. During that time, she and her family lost their home and all belongings three times. After the war she moved to London where she lived for close to five years. While there she met her husband-to-be, Bror Faber, who at the time was in the U.S. Air Force stationed in Germany. They were married in September 1955 in Long Beach, California. A devoted wife and loving mother who always put the family first, she truly loved opera and classical music, reading and gourmet cooking. She was blessed with an adventurous spirit, always eager to see what was over the next hill and thoroughly enjoyed travel, both in the U.S., initially on their motorcycle and later in their R.V., as well as overseas. During their marriage, they have lived in Southern Calif., Korea, Wilmington, Del., Dayton, Tenn., North Augusta, S.C. and came to Cedaredge to retire in 1993. Elisabeth is survived by her husband; their son Eric and his finance, Mary Frances Rutland of Carrollton, Ga.; daughter, Sonya and son-in-law, Terry Silva of Westminster, Calif.; grandchildren, Alexander and Donniell Silva; her brother, Willy and sister-in-law, Friedel Reihs in Hattingen, Germany; her sister, Margaret Laepple in Wattenschied, Germany; and brother-in-law, Ben and sister-in-law, Georgianna Faber in Cedaredge.
