The mass grave is yet to be removed at Ground Zero in New York City, but already the entertainment industry is ready, willing and able to exploit it.
CBS plans a sitcom - better called a "sick-com" - centered around a widow and widower whose spouses were killed during the Sept. 11 terrorist attack.
Call them insensitive or call them creative, but such ideas are the natural progeny of the free market place of ideas in this culture to which we belong. And if it goes into production, the show will either be accepted by the American public or relegated to the sitcom scrap heap.
That's where it belongs; the wounds from Sept. 11 are still too raw for most Americans.
