GIBSON, Ga. - Mrs. Mary Nell Walden Black, 78, of Walker St. died Tuesday, October 16, 2001, at McDuffie Regional Hospital, Thomson. The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at Mount Nebo Primitive Baptist Church with the Elder Lee Price and Elder Phillip Nichols officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. She was a native of Johnson County and a homemaker. She was a member of Mount Nebo Primitive Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, John Black, Gibson; seven daughters, Sara Wood, Las Vegas, Katherine Williams, North Augusta, Judy Usry, Gibson, Mildred McDonald, Gibson, Linda Fulcher, Hephzibah, Frankie Black, Gibson and Janel Higdon, High Shoals; four sons, Chester Kitchens, Gibson, Ralph Kitchens, Gibson, James Kitchens, Gibson, and Wendell Kitchens, Gibson; a sister, Pauline Kitchens, Mitchell and a brother, Ralph Walden, of Augusta; 32 grandchildren and 46 great-great grandchildren. Pallbearers are Eddie Kitchens, Daniel Higdon, Kenneth Kitchens, Richard Kitchens, David Kitchens, Ronnie Wood, Rodney Todd, and Colen Todd Jr. The family will receive friends today from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
