Mr. J.W. Hill



HEPHZIBAH, Ga. - Entered into rest Monday, Oct. 15, 2001, Mr. James "J.W." Welling Hill, of Hephzibah, husband of Mrs. Betty Harris Hill. Graveside services will be held Thursday, Oct. 18, 2001, at 2 p.m. at Hillcrest Memorial Park with Rev. Ron Fearneyhough officiating. Pallbearers will be Barry Nelson, Spencer Gantt, Johnny Brickle, Tony Hillis, Eddie Johnson and Wilbur Adkins. Mr. Hill was a native of Lowndesville, S.C. where he was a member of the Lowndesville Presbyterian Church. He was an equipment superintendent with Daniels Construction Co., an Air Force veteran serving in the Korean Conflict and a member of the VFW Post #5996 in Anderson, S.C. He had lived the past 19 years in Hephzibah. Additional family members include two sons, Randall Hill, Harlem and Keith Hill, Keysville; three daughters, Sandra Thomas, Jacksonville, Fla., Sheila Hill and Melinda Rowell, both of Hephzibah; a brother, Jimmy Neal Alexander, Greenwood, S.C.; four sisters, Martha Baskin and Patsy Driver, both of Lowndesville, S.C., Gail Pryar, Greenwood, S.C. and Claudia Blum, Anderson, S.C.; and 11 grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the funeral home this evening from 7-9 p.m. Poteet Funeral Home South Chapel, 3465 Peach Orchard Rd., Augusta, Ga.
