AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mr. Woodrow W. Harrell, 82, loving husband of Mrs. Janet Harrell, entered into rest on Sunday, October 14, 2001, at the Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center, Fort Gordon, Georgia. Graveside services with full military honors will be held on Wednesday, October 17, 2001, at 2 p.m. from Westover Memorial Park with Chaplain (Captain) Yun J. Kim officiating. Born in Union, South Carolina, Mr. Harrell has lived in Augusta since 1962. He has retired from careers in both the U.S. military and Civil Service. Serving in the U.S. Army, Mr. Harrell represented our country in both World War II and in Korea and was awarded the Purple Heart medal for his service. Mr. Harrell is survived by his son, Steve Harrell, Martinez; two stepsons, Gregory Lamb, Augusta, Mark Lamb, Augusta; one stepdaughter, Marsha L. Nobles, Augusta; two grandchildren, Russell Harrell, Dallas, Texas and Chris Harrell, Beaufort, South Carolina. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Elliott Sons Funeral Home, 2524 Lumpkin Road.
