Mr. Thomas Nixon



AUGUSTA, Ga. - Entered into rest on Saturday, October 13, 2001, at Augusta Hill Health Central Nursing Home, Mr. Thomas P. Nixon, He was born September 9, 1946, to the late David and Josie Bell Nixon. He attended the public schools of Richmond County and was baptized at the Liberty Baptist Church where he served in the Young Timothy Brotherhood Ministry and The Voices of Liberty. He will always be remembered by four sisters, Edith Williams, Hephzibah, Carolyn Cummings, Grovetown, Jacquelyn (Nolan) Goss, Vanessa Hightower, both of Augusta; four brothers, David (Bessie) Nixon, Curtis Nixon, both of Augusta, Joseph (Betty) Nixon, Hephzibah, Michael (Valerie) Nixon, Augusta; an aunt, Maggie Weaver, Chicago; a devoted friend, Mr. Gregory James; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. from the Liberty Baptist Church, Rev. Donty officiating. Interment will be in Southview Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the residence of his sister, Mrs. Edith Williams, 2504 Walsh Court, between the hours of 6 and 9 p.m. today, Wednesday.
