Midweek glance

What's next: The Eagles (6-0, 4-0 Southern Conference) play host to The Citadel (1-3) on Saturday (1 p.m.)

What's new: Georgia Southern used a 27-18 triumph at Appalachian State, its first in Boone since 1993, to improve to 6-0 for the first time since 1998. FB Adrian Peterson's streak of consecutive 100-yard rushing games was halted at 48 overall games, an NCAA record in all divisions.

Injuries: FS Nick Kearns (knee), SS David Young (neck) and DE Jamar Jones (wrist) are questionable.

Pressing question: Can the defense continue its clutch play? Appalachian State entered Georgia Southern territory eight times but scored only twice.

Notable: Saturday is homecoming for the Eagles at Paulson Stadium.

Quotable: "I'm not really concerned about the record. I'm concerned about getting a win and getting our team back to Chattanooga (Tenn.)." - Peterson

-Larry Williams
