In the wake of the terrible things that have happened to our nation, I want children to understand that not all grown-ups treat others poorly. I wonder if these thoughts may help:
Thanksgiving is for thanking all the people who make our country safe and free.
Hero is a person who unselfishly sacrifices to help others have a chance at life.
Freedom is each American having the right to work hard at being a good citizen.
God is a sincere and unconditional love for each other.
Christmas is a celebration of the birth of Christ.
Giving is putting a smile in the heart of a child in need.
And what if we taught ourselves that the real meaning of good can be found in the hearts of our children?
