What's next: The No. 16 Tigers (3-1, 1-1 ACC) play at N.C. State (3-1, 1-1) on Saturday (noon, Fox Sports Net).
What's new: Clemson coach Tommy Bowden said Tuesday that freshman WR Roscoe Crosby "probably" will miss Saturday's game. Crosby missed the past two games with a knee injury, then he broke his nose in the post-game celebration after the Tigers' 47-44 win at Georgia Tech on Sept. 29.
Injuries: LB Altroy Bodrick (knee), WR Tony Elliott (wrist), SS Marcus Houskin (neck) and WR Kevin Youngblood (leg) are out. Crosby is doubtful. CB Brian Mance (knee) and G T.J. Watkins (knee) are probable.
Pressing question: Can Clemson keep the game from becoming a shootout? The Tigers' defense has been a liability in every game this season, but coordinator Reggie Herring said his unit played well at times despite giving up 44 points to the Yellow Jackets. Clemson held Tech to two field goals on its last two drives.
Notable: The past four meetings between the Tigers and Wolfpack have been decided by a touchdown or less.
Quotable: "Do you call Dantzler a tailback who throws 25 times a game or a quarterback who runs 25 times a game? Whatever you call him, he's a dangerous cat." - N.C. State coach Chuck Amato, on Clemson quarterback Woody Dantzler.
