TENNILLE, Ga. - Mrs. Susie Kate Harrell Johnson, age 87, of Joiner Road in Tennille died Saturday, October 6 in the Washington Regional Medical Center following a brief illness. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 9 in the May and Smith Funeral Home chapel in Tennille. The Elder Lee Price will officiate with burial in the Zeta Cemetery in Tennille. Pallbearers will be Brian E. Bruce Gerald H. Bruce, C. Hunter Naman, Eric H. Naman, Marvin Hunter Johnson and Aaron E. Johnson. Mrs. Johnson was a native of Montgomery County, the daughter of the late Ed Harrell and the late Alma Redfern Harrell. She was a homemaker and a former employee of the Washington Manufacturing Company and Deluxe Cleaners. Mrs. Johnson was the wife of the late Luther Hunter Johnson and the mother of the late Cleo Johnson Naman. She was a member of the Mount Nebo Primitive Baptist Church. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister and friend. Survivors include three sons, Lamar Johnson of Chula Vista, Calif., Marvin Johnson and Earl Johnson, both of Tennille; two daughters, Lillie J. Bruce of Martinez and Dorothy J. Calamas of Appling; three sisters, Mary Elizabeth Harrell of Gibson, Polly H. Brassell and Sarah H. Humphrey, both of Birmingham, Ala.; 19 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild. May and Smith Funeral Directors in Tennille is in charge of the arrangements. The family suggests that donations may be made to the Zeta Cemetery Trust Fund, P.O. Box 1, Tennille, GA. 31089. The family will be at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Johnson, 1667 Joiner Road, Tennille.
