Mr. James Walker Jr.



RIVERDALE, Ga. - Mr. James Walker, Jr. formerly of Augusta, entered into rest Wednesday night at Decatur Hospital. He was a World War II veteran, a truck driver and a heavy equipment operator. His love for Christ was manifested by the life he lived, always sharing Gods word with those he came in contact with. Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Monday, October 8, 2001, at the Church of Christ, 1002 DAntignac Street, Roland Cumbee Jr., Minister, officiating. Interment will be in Mount Olive Memorial Gardens. His remains will lie in state an hour before the service. He leaves to cherish his memories five sons, Floyd J. Brooks, Dallas, Texas, Jerry L. (Mamie) Walker, Augusta, James (Stephanie) Walker, Marietta, Ruben T. (Hazel) Walker, Madison and Robert L. (Evelyn) Walker, Augusta; two daughters, Mattie W. (Harry) Williams , Riverdale, and Patricia A. Walker, Augusta; brother, Al (Sylvia) Walker of Augusta; brothers-in-law, Johnny (Deloris) Brook and Freddie (Linda) Brooks; sisters-in-law, Julia Moore, Mary Thompson, Sarah (Andrew) Jenkins and Sylvia (Al) Walker all of Augusta; 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
