Mr. Woodbury Rinker



AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mr. E. Woodbury Rinker, age 68, died on October 3, 2001, at his residence. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Jones Rinker; sons, George Woodbury Rinker and Frank Woodbury Rinker, both of Atlanta; mother, Alice Frances Rinker of Augusta; sister, Frances Marian Rinker of Mount Pleasant, S.C. Woodbury graduated from the University of Ga. in 1955 with a B.S. Degree, he was a member of the Kappa Alpha Fraternity, served in the U.S. Air Force as a 2nd Lt., he married Barbara Jones on September 6, 1959. Woodbury was an Elder on session at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church, member of the Lions Club, and Eagle Scout with Palms, and was very active in the church ministry. He was a self employed business professional. His favorite hobbies included, mentoring, woodworking, stained glass, flying, and most of all spending time with his family. He is known for being gentle, loving and generous. Among Woodburys favorite bible verses was Roman 8:28, "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to his purpose." Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 8, 2001, at 11 a.m. at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church, 3551 Wheeler Road, with Rev. Robert Hunt officiating. Interment will be in Westover Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Frank McKnight, Charles Bowen, Roy Scarborough, Gene Cronic, Bud Amerson, George Perkins, and Don Cheeks. Honorary pallbearers will be officers of the church, Dr. Charles Wolf, Dr. Bobby Ray Fogle, Billy Black, Gerald Hargrove, J. Thomas Jones, Joe Yoho, Gregg Massey, John Swanagan, Dr. Fred Marchalk, Douglas Bernard. Donations can be made to St. Andrew Presbyterian Church, 3551 Wheeler Road, Augusta, GA 30909. The family will receive friends this evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home and Sunday from 2 until 4 p.m. Pallbearers are to assemble at the church at 10:30 a.m. Monday morning.
