OLIVER HARDY FESTIVAL: The city of Harlem holds its 13th annual Oliver Hardy Festival, commemorating its famous comedic native son and the town's heritage, starting at 9 a.m. throughout downtown Harlem. The festival features an extensive craft fair, entertainment on two stages, Laurel and Hardy impersonators and a look-alike contest, two parades, a sneak preview of the new Oliver Hardy Museum and screenings of classic Laurel and Hardy films. Admission to the festival is free.
GREEK FESTIVAL: The Greek Festival at the Greek Orthodox Church of the Holy Trinity continues from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. The event features authentic Greek cuisine, entertainment and a Greek bazaar. There also will be tours of the ornate church. Sunday hours are from noon to 6 p.m. Admission is free. The church is at 953 Telfair St.
COOK-OFF: Legislators, ministers, coaches and other professionals are among the 39 men taking part in the Celebrity Men's Great Outdoor Cook-Off, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Lake Olmstead, Milledge Road. The event benefits the 30901 Development Corp. Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for children ages 12 and younger.
MARKET DAY: The 2001 Market Day Festival will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Aiken County Historical Museum, 433 Newberry Street S.W., in Aiken. It will feature antiques, crafts, quilting demonstrations, food, entertainment, plants and produce for sale, activities for children, tours of the museum and more. Admission is free.
BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT: Roy Warner Park and Wagener-Salley High School Students Opposed to Drug Abuse will hold a free three-on-three half-court basketball tournament at 10 a.m. at Roy Warner Park, South Carolina Highway 39, in Wagener. The tournament is open to players ages 12 and older. Entry and admission are free.
