Thomson 30, Greenbrier 21

THOMSON, Ga. - Deon Palmer admitted after Friday night's game that homecoming nearly caught his Bulldogs off guard.

But on the strength of three Demarco McNair touchdown runs, Thomson overcame three lost fumbles, staged a fourth-quarter comeback and knocked off Greenbrier, 30-21, at the Brickyard Friday night.

"We weren't focused; we got hyped up in the homecoming week," Palmer said. "We weren't focused in the first half ... we knew we could be the first Thomson High team to go 5-0 since 1991. So we knew we had something to prove to the whole town."

Greenbrier (1-3, 0-2) lost 10 first-half points when Chad Hester's 77-yard fumble recovery for a touchdown was brought back because of a clipping penalty and Ben Tankersley missed a 27-yard field wide left.
