AUGUSTA, Ga. - Entered into rest on Friday, September 21, 2001, Mrs. Marie S. Chavis, 42, of Bennocks Mill Road, Augusta. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., today, in the chapel of Starling-Hatcher Funeral Home with the Rev. Marion Jay and the Rev. Frank Barker of Whispering Pines Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Stephanie and Wayne Crim of St. Matthews, S.C.; a brother and sister-in-law, Sammy and Renee Smith of St. Matthews; two stepbrothers, Charles Beatty Jr, Anniston, Ala. and Timothy Beatty, Martinez; two stepsisters, Catherine DeLamater, Herndon, Va. and Becky Carter, Crossett, Ariz.; one granddaughter, McKala Crim; three nieces, Summer, Breianna and Savannah Smith; and a dear friend, Kay Mosely. Mrs. Chavis, a native of Hamblen County, Tenn., had lived in Augusta for the past six years and had previously lived in St. Matthews, S.C.
