LIGONIER, Pa. -- An overnight delay didn't seem to bother Robert Allenby, who made another short birdie putt Sunday morning and completed his third round at 6-under 66 to build a three-stroke lead in the Pennsylvania Classic.
Allenby, among 11 players who failed to finish their rounds Saturday in a tournament delayed every day by rain or fog, hit his approach into about 6 feet on No. 16 for birdie and had another 6-foot birdie putt on the 18th that just missed.
He was at 201, three strokes ahead of Rocco Mediate, who grew up about 20 miles away from Laurel Valley and joined the club six years ago. Mediate parred his final three holes for a 67.
Allenby and Mediate were grouped in the final round Sunday afternoon with Kevin Sutherland, who had a course-record 64 on Saturday and was at 205.
Nick Price birdied the 18th Sunday morning for a 68 and also was at 11-under 205.
Allenby will be going for his second victory of the year, having already won the Nissan Open at Riviera in a six-man playoff.
