LOUISVILLE, Ga. - Ruth Evelyn Lane Johnson, age 93, a resident of Glendale Nursing Home, Wadley, passed away Friday, September 7, 2001, at Jefferson County Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband James E. Johnson and her parents, Alonzo and Hattie Esque Lane. She was a native of Franklin, Ky. and had lived in Louisville for the past eight years. She was a retired school cafeteria manager and a member of the Curlew United Methodist Church. Mrs. Johnson and her husband were owners of Lakeview Dairy and Grove in Palm Harbor, Fla. Mrs. Johnson was active in the Louisville United Methodist Church and was a member of the Wardlaw Circle. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Mary Lane and Joseph L. James of Louisville; a sister, Mary Jo Carter of Harpers Ferry, W.Va.; grandchildren, Stan and Debbie James of Fayettville, Stephen and Tina James of Statesboro and Christine and David Baker of Houston, Texas; five great-grandchildren, Katelyn James of Fayettville, Christopher James, Nicholas James, Rebecca James all of Statesboro and Zoey Lane Baker of Houston, Texas. Graveside services will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, September 12 at Curlew United Methodist Church Cemetery, Palm Harbor, Fla. The family is at the home of Mary and Joseph James, 1117 Robert Sample Lane, Louisville and will receive friends, Sunday, September 9 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Johnson-Grier Funeral Home in Louisville. The family will also receive friends Tuesday, September 11 from 6 to 8 p.m., at Moss Feaster Funeral Home in Dunedin, Fla. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Louisville United Methodist Church. Johnson-Grier Funeral Home, Louisville is in charge of the arrangements.
