AMBROSE, Ga. - Mr. Mack Jowers, 90, of Highway 268 East, Ambrose, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, September 7, 2001, at Coffee Regional Medical Center following and extended illness. Mr. Jowers, a native of Coffee County, Georgia, was born on August 15, 1911, to the late Jonathan and Mary Harper Jowers. Mr. Jowers was a prominent farmer in the Ambrose Community and he was a bail adjuster for Rain and Hail Insurance Company. He was also a member and deacon of Bethany Holiness Baptist Church. Survivors include wife, Fannie Mae Jowers, Ambrose; son, Dr. Jonathan Ronald Jowers, Martinez; daughter, Maxzell J. Sprague, Ambrose, Mary Delaine Johnson, Ambrose; sister, Mary Bell Highsmith, Jesup; brother, William L. Jowers, Ambrose; grandsons, Mike Rogers, Ronald Anthony Jowers, Jonathan Kirk Jowers, C.V. Tanner, Jason Starling, Christopher, Mack Culpepper; granddaughters, Jacquelyn McLean, Melissa Jill Starling, Michelle Daniel, Danielle Johnson; 12 great-grandchildren and three great-great-great-grandchildren. Anna Sue Tanner, granddaughter, preceded Mr. Jowers in death. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, September 8, 2001, in the Bethany Holiness Baptist Church, with Rev. Ken Matthews, Rev. Jimmie Sayer and Rev. Ty Sorrow officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethany Church Cemetery. Sims Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
