Mrs. Artie Bumgardner



MARTINEZ, Ga. - Mrs. Artie Bumgardner, 80, beloved wife of the late Mr. Lloyd Bumgardner, died Sunday, September 2, 2001, at her residence. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 5, 2001, at 11 a.m. at Platts Funeral Home in Evans with Rev. Allen Yarbrough and Rev. Jeff Bumgardner officiating. Entombment will follow at Bellevue Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Survivors include two sons, James L. Bumgardner of Waynesville, N.C. and Ronald Bumgardner of Grovetown; a daughter, Patricia G. Kent of Martinez; a brother, James Haney of Gastonia, N.C.; a sister, Evelyne Evans of Dallas, N.C.; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. A native of Athens, Tenn., Mrs. Bumgardner lived in the Augusta, Martinez area most of her adult life where she was a member of Crawford Avenue Baptist Church. Her family said that she was a loving wife and mother and an avid gardener. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph hospice, 2260 Wrightsboro Road, Augusta, GA 30904 and the American Cancer Society, 2623 Washington Road, Augusta, GA 30904 The pallbearers will be Robert Hardwick, Hayward Stevens, Rich Long, Pat Greene, Scott Williams and Chris Miller.
