AIKEN, S.C. - Ruby Ann Coleman Rikard, 89, of Crepe Myrtle Court, died Friday, August 31, 2001. Graveside services will be private conducted by the Rev. Dr. Karin B. Clup. Visitation will be from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Sunday at Charles R. Shealy & Son Funeral Home of Batesburg - Leesville. Memorials may be made to St. Johns United Methodist Church, 513 West Church, St. Batesburg, S.C. 29006. Mrs. Rikard, formerly of Batesburg, was married to Lester E. Rikard for 70 years. Born in Stoneville, N.C., she was a daughter of the late William R. and Martha Fulp Coleman, and foster daughter of the late Robert Lee and Sally Fulp Coleman. She was a member of St. Johns United Methodist Church in Batesburg for over 60 years and was a member of the Adult Sunday School Class and Mae Holler Circle. In her younger years, Mrs. Rikard was active in her church and in Batesburg school activities. She attended Leaksville Hospital School of Nursing in Leaksville, N.C. Survivors are her husband of Aiken; daughter, Nancy Rikard Lown and son-in-law, Joseph A. Lown of Augusta; twin grandsons, Karl Steven Lown of Aiken and Kevin Stuart Lown of North Augusta; one great-grandson, Patrick Steven Lown of Aiken. She was preceded by her eldest grandson, Joseph Eric Lown.
