Jackets lose in 11 innings to Tourists



ASHEVILLE, N.C. - Melvin Rosario singled with two on and two outs in the bottom of the 11th to lift the Asheville Tourists to a 7-6 South Atlantic League victory over the Augusta GreenJackets.

After a walk to the Tourists' Miguel Vilorio, reached on a fielder's choice to start the 11th. Friday night's hero Cory Sullivan single to right, pushing Conway into scoring position at second base. Rosario then singled on a 1-0 pitch to score Conway.

GreenJackets pitchers Felix Villegas and Brian Adams were rocked hard in the first four-plus innings. The two combined to allow seven hits, six runs and issued three walks in 4 2/3 innings.

Franklin Francisco and Dan Giese offered some relief, pitching 5 1/3 innings of two-hit ball while striking out six. Anthony Scalfani (2-3) pitched the final inning and gave up two hits and the winning run.

The teams will play Game three of the four game set today at 7:05 p.m. with Joe Troilo scheduled to start for Augusta. Nick Webb is slated to start for Asheville.
