AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mrs. Elmae Lee Rountree, of Florence Street, died on Saturday, August 25, 2001, in the University Hospital. The funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, September 1, 2001, at noon from the Beulah Baptist Church, with Dr. Sam Davis officiating. The funeral processional will leave the residence at 11:30 a.m. The burial will be in The Fountain Spring Church Cemetery, Millen. Survivors include six daughters, Mrs. Doris (Lee) Lawson of Union South, S.C., Mrs. Geraldine Knight, Mrs. Ever Jean (Joe) Williamson, Ms. Cherry Rountree, Mrs. Betty R. Doby and Mrs. Shelia Rountree Royster, all of Augusta; four sons, Mr. James Rountree Jr., Mr. Stoney Lee Rountree, Mr. Standers Rountree, all of Augusta, and Mr. Michael (Lillie) Rountree of Oglethorpe; one brother, Mr. Charlie (Lula Mae) Lee; one sister, Mrs. Hattie Rountree; 36 grandchildren, 53 great-grandchildren; two special friends, Mrs. Bessie Payne and Mrs. Everlean Benefield; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
