Screven County rolls past Burke County

SYLVANIA, Ga. - Michael Cooper rushed for 213 yards on 27 carries, scoring three touchdowns to lead Screven County to a 33-6 victory over Burke County in the season opener for both teams.

While Cooper, who scored on runs of 19, 57 and 9 yards, and James Howard were highlighting the Screven County offense, the Gamecocks' defense shut down Burke County.

The Bears did not cross midfield until the fourth quarter when they got their only touchdown. It came on a 29-yard pass from quarterback Rameriz Crumbley to Michael Lamond.
