NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. - Mr. Harrison Pritchard, 81, husband of Bessie W. Pritchard of Leyland Place, entered into rest Thursday August 9, 2001, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m., Sunday, August 12, 2001, in the chapel of Rowland Funeral Home with Rev. Sam Adkins officiating. Burial will be in Pineview Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Ken Oates, Steve Blizard, Donny Callaway, Nathan Pritchard, Robert Loar, Jonathan Loar, and Danny Mathews. Honorary Pallbearers will be Deacons of Augusta Primitive Baptist Church. Mr. Pritchard was a native of Kite, Ga., and had lived in the Augusta area for the past 72 years. Mr. Pritchard was a World War II Navy veteran and was a retired chief accountant with the U.S. Postal Service. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Mr. Pritchard was a member of Augusta Primitive Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He was a member of the American Legion Post #63. Additional survivors include four daughters, Doreen Fowler of Clearwater, Fla., Jeanne Loar of Lorton, Va., Elaine Blizard of North Augusta, and Harriette Mathews of Enterprise, Ala.; three brothers, Alton Pritchard and Jack Pritchard both of Augusta, and Gene Pritchard of Lakeland, Fla.; and 10 grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials may be made to Augusta Primitive Baptist Church, 802 Metcalf Street, Augusta, GA 30904.
