Here's a list of entertainment events and other activities scheduled for today and Sunday:

BACK-TO-SCHOOL FAIR: University Health Care System will present a back-to-school festival for elementary and middle school pupils and their families from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. today at Aiken Mall, 2441 Whiskey Road.

The event will include speech, hearing and vision screenings; information on immunization requirements and before- and after-school child-care programs; registration for sports, Scouts and other recreational programs; information on school and bus schedules; and tips on nutrition, safety, and alcohol and drug awareness. A children's corner will offer crafts and special activities.

OPEN MIKE NIGHT: Barnes & Noble Booksellers, 1336 Augusta West Parkway, will hold its monthly reading session of original and selected poetry, prose and short fiction at 7:30 p.m. today. Bring material suitable for all ages to share, or enjoy the work of other local writers. For more information, call 860-2310.

BOOK SIGNING: Rodney Roberts will sign his book, Death and Danger, from 1 to 3 p.m. today at Books-A-Million, 2834 Washington Road. The book, based on the author's life, is about a young athlete who overcomes a career-ending knee injury and drug addiction and goes on to achieve a successful career in law enforcement.

FASHION SHOW: Augusta Mall's new fashion board will present a back-to-school fashion show at 2 p.m. today and Sunday at the Sears stage. Clothing from stores throughout the mall will be featured. Fashions will include uniforms and clothing that meets the dress codes of area schools. Fall fashions for toddlers and adults will also be included. The mall's fashion board is made up of 48 junior and senior high school students from 21 counties in Georgia and South Carolina. The members will be introduced at the end of the show.

RIVER JAZZ: Quietstorm and the Kari Gaffney Group will present a free jazz concert from 7 to 10 p.m. today at the Jessye Norman Amphitheater on the Riverwalk. For more information, call 821-1754.

GREENJACKETS AT HOME: The South Atlantic League's Boston Red Sox affiliate faces off against the Capital City Bombers at 7:15 p.m. today and 7:15 p.m. Sunday at Lake Olmstead Stadium on Milledge Road. ART TOUR: A tour focusing on the appreciation of sculpture will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Morris Museum of Art, 1 10th St. The program is free to the public.

GOSPEL CONCERT: The Voices of Franklin will present a gospel concert at 4 p.m. Sunday at the Julian Smith Casino, 2200 Broad St. Tickets cost $8 in advance, $10 at the door and $5 for seniors.
