Well, situation normal. I looked at my Augusta water bill and then turned to the infamous "map" to see if I was one of those fortunate ones to be added into the consolidated government. Anyone who has received a water bill knows full well that one cannot determine if they are on the new trash pickup list or not.
Come on, commissioners. Surely you can do better than this. I even pulled up the map on the Internet and it looks like I may be included. Hmmm, lucky me. I think.
City Administrator George Kolb by now should have learned that if he wants it done right, he needs to do it himself. He is not to blame for this, but if this is a government of the people, by the people, for the people, we have to do better.
No wonder folks are so confused. Let's get a good map out, with roads identified in neighborhoods so folks will know for certain where they stand. This trash collection should be for all the residents, bar none.
I know some don't want it, but in the long run it is cheaper, and we get more service for less money.
