COLUMBUS, Ga. - The Augusta GreenJackets dropped their third straight South Atlantic League baseball game to the Columbus RedStixx on Sunday night, falling 5-3.
Corey Smith homered and drove in three runs for the RedStixx. His two-run homer in the sixth inning off Luis Perez (7-6) erased a GreenJackets lead.
Smith added an RBI insurance run in the eighth inning.
Augusta had a 2-0 lead after three innings before Columbus scored two runs in the third inning and added two more in the sixth to take a 4-3 lead.
Dustin Brisson knocked in two of the GreenJackets' runs.
The two teams wrap up the four-game series tonight before the GreenJackets return to Lake Olmstead Stadium on Tuesday for a four-game series with Macon and a four-game set with Columbus.
