Sandersville's David Robinson turned in a 6-under-par 66 Friday to take the lead at the halfway point of the Georgia Amateur Championship in Atlanta.
Robinson, a Georgia College and State University golfer who opened with a 70, is at 8-under-par 136. He leads Randy Donahoo (68-69) of Woodstock by one shots.
Tied for third place, two shots back, are a former Augusta State golfer and a current one. Jonathan Shiflet of Hartwell, the former Jaguar, and senior Michael Webb of Elberton have both fired rounds of 70-68-138 at Cherokee Town & Country Club.
Two other Augustans made the cut, which fell at 5-over-par 149. Jeff Knox is tied for 11th place after rounds of 70-70-140 and Cortland Lowe is tied for 22nd place after rounds of 69-74-143. Augustans missing the cut were Richard Maddox (72-80-152) and Scott Volpitto (81-73-154).
