Mrs. Essie Yates



AUGUSTA, Ga. - Entered into rest Monday, July 9, 2001, at the Medical College of Georgia, Mrs. Essie Mae Yates of Mauge St. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 14, 2001, at 2 p.m. at Mount Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Archie Waltower officiating. Burial will be in Mount Olive Memorial Gardens. She was a native of Edgefield County, S.C., a member of the Mount Calvary Baptist Church where she served on the December Birth Month Club, Club #8 and the Mount Calvary Inspirational Choir and she was a member of the United States Army. Survivors are four daughters, Alverine Coleman, Augusta, Edwina (Oscar) Williams, Annie Bell Yates, Cleveland, Ohio;, Vivian Robinson, Augusta; two sons, Bernard Yates and Melvin Yates , both of Augusta; a brother, Herbert Ross, Augusta; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a dear friend, David Johnson; and a host of other relatives and friends.
