VIDALIA, Ga. - Mrs. Peggy Williams Sims, age 69, of North Mapel Drive, Vidalia, died early Wednesday morning at her residence after an extended illness. A native of Augusta, she moved to Vidalia in the early 1960s. She was a retired from the Toombs County Magistrate, was a past member of the Ladies of the Moose and a member of the Vidalia First Baptist Church. Mrs. Sims is survived by two daughters, Phyllis Wingate of Vidalia and Janet Hutcheson of Statesboro; a son, Lt. Jimmy Sims of Vidalia; one granddaughter, Nichole Sims of Vidalia; four other grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and two nieces also survive. Funeral services for Mrs. Peggy Williams Sims will be held Friday morning at 11 a.m. from the chapel of Ronnie L. Stewart Family Funeral Service of Vidalia with Rev. Bernard Hill officiating. Interment will follow in Lakeview Memorial Gardens. The family asks that in lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Harvest Time Church of God of Vidalia. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. Ronnie L. Stewart Family Funeral Services of Vidalia is in charge of funeral arrangements.
