ATTLEBORO, Mass. - Irene E. Lynch Dion, 71, of Picard Road, South Attleboro, employed in the jewelry industry in the Attleboros for many years until retiring , died unexpectedly Saturday at home. She was the wife of the late Gabriel J. Dion. Born in Providence, R.I. March 13, 1930, she was a daughter of the late John J. and Mary Agnes Roy Lynch. Mrs. Dion had resided in South Attleboro for many years before moving to Augusta, Ga. where she resided for over 25 years. She returned to South Attleboro in 1998. She leaves two daughters, Sharon A. Picard, with whom she made her home, and Shirley A. Royal of South Attleboro; four grandchildren, Ronald E. Picard, Jacob J. Picard, both of South Attleboro, John H. Dion of Augusta, Ga., and Katrina K. Dion of Pawtucket, R.I. She was the mother of the late Gabriel J. Dion Jr. The funeral will be held Thursday at 11 a.m., from William W. Tripp Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Avenue, Pawtucket, R.I. followed by a Funeral Mass at noon in St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Church, 18 Baltic Street, South Attleboro. Burial will follow at Mount St. Mary Cemetery, Prospect Street, Pawtucket, R.I.
