CAMDEN, S.C. - Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, July 11, 2001, at the Cedars Cemetery, for Mrs. Ethel Hogan Williams,76, who died Sunday, July 8, 2001. She was born in Ridgeway, South Carolina and was the daughter of the late Ed and Eunice Hogan. She was a school teacher and guidance counselor for 34 years having taught at Whittey Elementary and Baron DeKalb Elementary and high schools. She also coached a championship basketball team while at Kirkland Elementary School. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in English from Allen University and a Master of Education Degree from South Carolina State University. She was a member of Mount Baptist Church where she served on the Trustee Board. She was a member of many church, educational and civic organizations, including, the National Education Association, the SC Education Association and the Kershaw County Education Association. She was a member of the Sisterhood of the Order of the Eastern Star and a member of the Camden Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Survivors are her devoted husband of 58 years, Johnny R. Williams of Camden, S.C.; one son, Johnny R. Williams Jr. of Paramount, Calif.; one daughter, Millicent Williams (Willie) Mazyck of Augusta, Ga.; two grandsons, Johnny R. Williams III, San Diego, Calif. and Willie Rufus Mazyck Jr. of Augusta, Ga.; a brother, Eddie (Alma) Hogan of Camden, S.C.; two sisters, Angie Hogan King and Pauline Hogan Young of Bronx, N.Y.; and a host of relatives and friends.
