Mrs. JoAnn Hughes



AIKEN, S.C. - Entered into rest on Monday, Mrs. JoAnn Ford Hughes, of Leathwood Drive, Aiken. She was the wife of the late Purvis Hughes. She was the mother of three daughters, Jackie Manders, Augusta, Ga., Julie Mooney, Dublin, Ga., Janice Rogers, Blythe, Ga.; one stepdaughter, Gail Green, Aiken; and three brothers, W.R. Ford, North Augusta, S.C., Ray F. Ford, Evans, Ga., and C. Pat Ford, Lincolnton, Ga.; survivors include, seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and five step grandchildren. She was born in Augusta, Ga., to the late Willie Joe Ford and Mattie Scoggins Ford. She retired from the Veterans Affairs Medical Center- Uptown Division with 31 years of service. She was a Baptist. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, in the Hatcher Funeral Home chapel, with the Rev. Jeff Hines officiating. Interment in Sunset Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be Clyde Estelle Jr., John Sloop, David Ford, Joe Ford, D.J. Williams, and Patrick Ford. Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Hospice, 2260 Wrightsboro Road, Augusta, GA 30904. Friends may call on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Hatcher Funeral Home.
