GREENSBORO, Ga. - Mr. William Seaborn Ashley Jr., of Greensboro, Ga., passed away on Tuesday, June 26, 2001, at his home. He was a lifelong resident of Greene County and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Greensboro. He attended North Georgia College before graduating from the University of Georgia in 1969 and the University of Georgia Law School in 1972. He practiced law in Greensboro for 22 years before merging with Blasiname, Burch, Garrard, Bryant, and Ashley P.C. in 1995. He was member of the Georgia Bar Association and an active Alumnus of the University of Georgia Law School. He is survived by his wife Dianne Ashley of Greensboro, Ga.; daughter, Dr. Misty Caudell of Augusta, Ga.; son Gregory Seaborn Ashley of Athens, Ga.; parents, William Seaborn Ashley Sr. and Mary Jean Holmes Ashley of Greensboro, Ga.; brother and sister-in-law, Eric and Carolyn Ashley of Watkinsville, Ga.; nieces, Joy Ashley, Lisa Ashley and Erica Ashley, all of Watkinsville, Ga.; aunts and uncles, Caroline Ashley of Greensboro, Ga., Mr. and Mrs. Eric Holmes of Atlanta, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Holmes, Athens, Ga. Mr. Ashley was preceded in death by grandparents, Seaborn and Dana Smith Ashley, and Eric and Florence Gunter Holmes. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, June 28, 2001, from the First United Methodist Church of Greensboro with Rev. Richard Chewning and Dudley Horton officiating. Interment will be in the Greensboro City Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday night from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
