Russ Gentry, Rockmart, Ga., and Phil "Fish" Williams, Marietta, Ga., five fish, 13.06 pounds, $900. Big fish: Gentry and Williams, 6.07 pounds. Sixty-six of 83 teams weighed in 277 bass weighing 573.77 pounds.

Angler's Choice Team Tournament Trail

Teams must be members of Angler's Choice in good standing. Non-members may join by enclosing an annual $25 membership fee per person with the $175 team entry fee, which includes the big fish pot. Membership fees are due in January. Contestants should register in advance by mail; however, on-site registration will be held at 5:15 on tournament mornings until the last boat has launched at safe light.

Entry fee is $22 per boat. Hours are 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. Five-fish limit per team or individual. Payback is based on number of boats entered. The Summer Saturday Night Classic will be held on Saturday, Aug. 25, from 5 p.m. to midnight and anglers must have fished a minimum two regular season tournaments to qualify, or pay $100. Those who have fished a minimum of two tourneys will pay an entry fee of $55, including big fish pot. There is a one-time registration fee of $20 per person. Entry fee is $30. Regular tournaments are sponsored by Chuck's Lakeside Marine, Willoughby Ford of Thomson, Ga., Sportsman's Link of Martinez, Rick's Paint & Body of Martinez, White Columns Inn of Thomson and Augusta Marine Superstore. They will be held every Saturday from safe light until 3 p.m., until further notice out of Cherokee Ramp. Tournaments will not be held when dates conflict with Clark Hill Committee events. Anglers must fish a total of 6 tournaments to qualify for the SMOT Classic, which will pay a guaranteed $10,000 to the first-place team based on 30 boats. One place will be paid for every 10 additional boats. Qualified teams will pay $150 to compete in the Classic, while non-qualifiers must pay $400. For more information: Dennis Bullard, 541-0870.
