HARLEM, Ga. - Entered into rest Thursday, June 7, 2001, at his residence, Mr. Milton L. "Preacher" McZilkey, of Lonergan-Hulme Road, Harlem, Ga. Funeral services will be held 3 p.m., Sunday, June 10, 2001, at Powell Baptist Church, Harlem, Ga., with Revs. Randall Whitaker and Harold Richey officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Mr. McZilkey, a native of Columbia County, was an Army veteran of World War II and had retired from Columbia County Animal Control. He was a member of Powell Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Betty Jones McZilkey; two sons, James Edgar Boyd, Charleston, S.C. and Harry Durwood "Woody" Boyd, Bartow, Ga.; stepson, Alvin Phillips, Harlem, Ga.; stepdaughter, Kathleen McCarty, Thomson, Ga.; brother, Horace W. McZilkey Jr., Springs, Texas; sister, Maggie Heriott, Sumter, S.C.; seven grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Chris Maddox, Steven Maddox, Davis Maddox, Buddy Price, T.L. Smith, Donnie Smith, Raybon Kelley, L.B. Anderson. Friends may call at the residence. The family will receive friends Saturday evening, from 7 to 9 p.m., at Starling Funeral Home, Hwy 78, Harlem, Ga.
