WASHINGTON, GA.- Mr. Hubert Tucker, Jr., 78, of Water St. died Tuesday in Lawrenceville. Graveside services will be held Friday Morning at 11a.m. at Resthaven Cemetery with Rev. Albert Huyck & Dr. John Childers officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be the Jesse Mercer Sunday School Class, and Hoyt Higdon, Robert Stevens, Marion West, and Richard Nelms. Mr. Tucker was a native of Wilkes County, and was twice married, first to the late Doris Payne Tucker, and presently to Pauline Lunceford Tucker. He was a past member of the Washington City Council, and was a decorated veteran, having served in the Army during WW II. He was a retired grocer and retired radio dispatcher for the Washington Police Dept. He is survived by his wife, Pauline L. Tucker, of the home; one son, Dr. Tony Tucker, of Guam; two daughters, Kay T. McFarlin, Alpharetta; and Kim T. Wall, of Lawrenceville; and three grandchildren. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 7 to 9 p.m., at Hopkins Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Washington First Baptist Church Building Fund.
