Mr. Ernest Johnson Jr.



VAUCLUSE, S.C. - Entered into rest, Friday, June 1, 2001, Mr. Ernest Johnson Jr. of Vaucluse, S.C., beloved husband of Maedee Widener Johnson and son of the late Ernest Johnson Sr. and the late Cloutezze Friday Johnson. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Laura Ann Johnson, Tennessee; three sons, Lloyd Johnson, Vaucluse, S.C., David Johnson Sr., Warrenville, S.C. and Richard Johnson, Graniteville, S.C.; three sisters, Mary J. Youngblood, Aiken, Evelyn J. Napier, Warrenville and Ethel J. Hatcher, Graniteville; two brothers, Thomas Johnson, Graniteville and Edward Johnson Sr., Graniteville; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Mr. Johnson was born in Aiken County, S.C. and was a lifetime resident of this area. He was a retired Command Sgt. Major with the U.S. Army with over thirty years of service having served during WW II and was retired from Graniteville Company as an overseer of maintenance. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Vaucluse, S.C., where he faithfully served as a Deacon and trustee and was member of the Ernest Johnson Sunday School Class. The funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Monday, June 4, 2001, in the chapel of Napier Funeral Home, Graniteville, S.C. with Rev. Caleb Coffin and Rev. Larry Gregory officiating. The interment will follow in the Vaucluse Cemetery, Vaucluse, S.C. with full military rites accorded. Pallbearers will be David Johnson Jr., Spence Johnson, Patrick Johnson, Efird Johnson, Brian Lowe, Mike Youngblood and Ernie Youngblood. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Ernest Johnson Sunday School Class. The family will receive friends at the residence at 4907 Vaucluse Rd., Vaucluse, S.C. or at Napier Funeral Home, tonight, Sunday, June 3, 2001, from 7 to 9 p.m. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Vaucluse, P.O. Box 26, Vaucluse, S.C. 29850.
