ATLANTA, Ga. - Entered into rest Wednesday, May 23, 2001, in Atlanta, Mr. General James Walden Sr. of Sanderson Street, N.E., Atlanta. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 30, 2001, from Peel Grove Baptist Church, Vidette, Ga. with Elder Mark Walden officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery. He was a native of Burke County and retired from Metal Plate Galvanizing Company after 30 years of service. Survivors are his wife, Leola Walden; daughters, Josephine Walden Williams and Leora Reese, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; sons, General James Walden Jr., Joe Lee Walden, Ft. Lauderdale; Mark Walden and Ernest Walden, Atlanta; sisters, Eliza Cooper, Ft. Lauderdale, Pearlie Mae Batts, Mamie Frazier, Louisville, Georgia, Charlotte Hall, Dania, Florida, Pauline Williams, Mattie Sims, Augusta; brothers, Ran Walden and Elder Mark Walden, Augusta; 22 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; dear friend, Mattie Williams, Atlanta.
