AUGUSTA, Ga. - Entered into rest May 26, 2001 at her residence, Mrs. Louise Brittingham Holley, 70, of Augusta, wife of the late Senator Eugene Holley. The most Holy Rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m., Monday, at Platts Crawford Ave. chapel. The family will receive friends following the Rosary. The funeral mass will be celebrated at noon, Tuesday, May 29, 2001, at St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church with the Rev. P. James Costigan officiating. Burial will follow in Westover Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers will be her nephews, Paul Menk, Lawrence Brittingham, William Brittingham, Thomas Brittingham, Frank Brittingham and Patrick Brittingham. A native of Augusta, Mrs. Holley. was a member of St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church, the Legisladies of the Georgia General Assembly, the Doctors Hospital Guild, the Theresians and was also a lifetime member of the St. Joseph Hospital Auxiliary. Most of all she will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Survivors include four sons, Robert E. Holley of Augusta, Phillip G. Holley of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla., Stephen T. Holley and Eugene N. Holley both of Augusta; a daughter, Mrs. Anna Holley Avrett of Augusta; a brother, Herman Brittingham of Augusta; a sister, Mrs. Rosemary Menk of Augusta; and four grandchlidren, Ryan Holley, Holley Avrett, Alex Avrett and Bailey Avrett. The Family will also receive friends at the home of Mr. and Mrs. David Avrett, 2725 Walton Way, Augusta, following the services.
