Mrs. Edith Widener



NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. - Entered into rest on Thursday, May 24, 2001, at her residence, Mrs. Edith C. Widener, age 79, wife of Wilbur "Bill" Widener of North Augusta, S.C. Additional survivors include a son, Thomas W. Fennell Jr. of Grovetown; daughters, Frances Haigwood of Belvedere, S.C. and Sondra Blaxton of Belvedere, S.C.; a brother, James E. Carter of Augusta, Ga.; six grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. Mrs. Widener was a homemaker and a Baptist. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, May 27, 2001, from Hillcrest Memorial Park with Rev. Vic Daniels officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 7 to 9 p.m., at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Billy Folger, Ralph Edward Folger Jr., Ralph Edward Folger III, Kent Huff, Gregg Stokes and Gary Burch. Donations can be made to the St. Joseph Hospice, 2260 Wrightsboro Rd.
