LEXINGTON, Ky. - Anthony Pluta allowed one run, scattered six hits and struck out eight over seven innings for Lexington as the Legends completed a four-game sweep of the Augusta GreenJackets, 3-1 in front of 4,451 fans at Applebee's Park Tuesday.
Backed by a solo home run by Jon Topolski, Pluta (4-1), Jonathan Krysa and Max Tremblay shut down the Jackets, who head to Charleston, W.Va. to face the Alley Cats in a four-game set beginning today.
Augusta starter Richard Rundles (4-3) matched Pluta's seven innings, however allowed two runs in the second off a Paul Lockhart double and two Jackets errors.
Justin Sherrod followed Rick Asadoorian's triple with a double, accounting for Augusta's only run in the first inning. The GreenJackets out-hit the Legends eight to five. Dustin Brisson led Augusta's hit attack with two hits.
