I think The Chronicle went overboard in its coverage of the Rev. Jesse Jackson's visit to Augusta and other parts of Georgia. I realize the paper had to cover his visit, but you didn't have to glorify a man who is an adulterer, a man whose stated mission is to improve things in the South when he can't even keep his own house in order. He claims to be devoted to these noble causes when he wasn't devoted to his own wife enough to be faithful to her.
And like Bill Clinton, Jesse Jackson has no shame. The only difference between Messrs. Clinton and Jackson is that it took the latter a little longer to put himself back in the limelight as though nothing shameful had happened in his personal life.
