Seat belts are needed on school buses

Regarding driving records of school bus drivers and concern whether they're qualified or responsible enough to drive our children: When bus safety factors are considered, I wonder why seat belts are not provided.

It is my understanding that none of the school buses have seat belts. Why is it that a driver of a passenger car is required to wear a seat belt, and will even be ticketed if caught not wearing it, yet at the same time we allow our children to ride a bus without this same protection?

In the event of a roll-over accident, what protection do the children have? It's time the proper authorities look into this matter.
