Mrs. Edith Stewart

AUGUSTA, Ga. - Edith Thompson Stewart, age 53, passed away Thursday evening, April 26, 2001, at St. Joseph Hospital, Augusta, Ga. A native and lifelong resident of Augusta, Mrs. Stewart, had worked with the Richmond County Board of Education in the cafeteria at Warren Road Elementary School for approximately eight years until November of 2000. She was a member of the Greater Augusta Presbyterian Ministries. She is survived by her spouse of 21 years, Gary H. Stewart, her oldest son, Marty Williamson; her twin son and daughter Kevin and Gertrude L. Stewart; a granddaughter, Macie Williamson, all of Augusta, Ga.; and dear friends, Chuck and Melanie Reinert, Louise Perry and Millie Hay. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Monday, April 30, 2001, from the chapel of Elliot Sons Funeral Home, 1134 Telfair Street with Rev. Mark W. Deaton, officiating. Pallbearers will be Roger Gibson, Chris Sheehan, Harold Prescott, Nick Reinert, Sony Jenkins and Dennis Ford. Interment will follow in Westover Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 4 to 9 p.m. this evening at the funeral home. The Augusta Chronicle-April 29, 2001
