A Dearing couple is asking for help in finding their 13-year-old daughter who has been missing since Friday afternoon.
The teen, Kayce Collins, went to classes at Thomson Middle School on Friday but did not get onto her bus, said her father, Earl Collins.
A missing-person's report has been filed at the McDuffie County Sheriff's Office, and Sheriff Logan Marshall said an investigation was to start today as soon as 24 hours had elapsed from the time she was reported missing. The sheriff said there had been reports of previous troubles between the girl and her family.
But Earl and Sally Collins said their daughter does not have a history of running away from home, and friends and family were out Saturday morning looking for the teen.
Kayce is 5 feet 7 inches tall, has brown eyes and straight, brown hair. She was wearing blue jeans and a white, halter-type T-shirt. Anyone with information about Kayce is asked to call the McDuffie County Sheriff's Office at (706) 595-2145.
